BDT has 30+ applications in DataCentral, which is their landing page for apps. They have new 60K active users monthly that grows every day and gets 100,000 new data pipelines every month.
Meeting the needs of different user personas
Regardless of each user's technical acumen, Amazonians are encouraged to learn and use Amazon internal data to generate reports, improve Amazon processes, and create digital products for customers and team members.
I interviewed about 80 Amazon internal users to generate user persona and learn how and why they use BDT. The job functions for using BDT data are Designing data infrastructure, extract data to produce tables and datasets, building internal applications,Creating reports and data analysis to monitor inventory, budgets, and so on.
